Result of the Over 60’s match on Bellwood 26th on August 2026

Some of the anglers sat on the feeder for big fish. That proved not to be the way to go. Only one Bream was caught and that was by Ken Haines who had a few silvers to make up his 6lb. Dave Smith on the other hand had 81 Roach and Perch for his 6lb and, as he said, he had a much more enjoyable match. Bill Bowsher did the same as Dave and outscored him in the small fish race! Bellwood is one of our better maintained lakes.The pegs were comfortable and access around the lake was easy. It didn’t rain so it was an enjoyable match for the Seniors!

Ken Haines, Ken Rolfe, Tim Wirth, Clive Jones and Alf Megarry DNW. If you didn’t find a big fish you were not going to get good points. he top two had a carp and Richard caught a Bream. The rest had to try and find the bits that wanted to feed. Dave Smith’s little Perch earned him 2 points!!

Ken Rolfe, Mervyn Burrows, Steve Myers and Alf Magarry DNW. Tight at the top, Clive had 3 Carp and a Tench, Tony and Dave both had 4 Carp. Steve Myers was not feeling well so he packed up and went home.
