If it’s big carp you’re looking for then look no further than Collins which is NAA’s premium specimen carp lake with a low stock of around 70 carp, 26+ being over 30 pound and two over the magical 40 pound barrier. It can be a challenging lake but the rewards of getting right are epic. Knotts lake is an excellent runs water with hundreds of carp ranging from 10lbs to 30lb, average size 15lb. Lots of commons, 2 ghosty koi’s and a dozen mirrors. Dixon’s mere is a mixed fishery but holds plenty of carp from high doubles to high 20,s with a couple of hidden gems over 30 pound. This lake is hardly ever fished so if it’s peace and quiet you’re after then this is the lake for you. Bellwood is a favourite amongst our members as it has the most swims, it’s a runs water, it’s great for socials and holds a large stock of scaly mirrors and some cracking commons. Average weights are around 18lb with big head of 20+ and a few fish now busting into the 30’s. Pallets pool is another hidden gem with a low stock of carp including some very old originals with an average around 20lb and a couple over the 30lb mark. It was stocked in 2021 with 21 mirrors between 10 and 18 lbs. If you’re after an adventure you can always fish the NAA canal stretches as they also hold carp although they will be challenging to catch.
